HELLO, I’m NOAH James.

I AM A professionally trained actor, a BAFTA Rocliffe award-winning writer AND A teachER OF what I practice; the art of creating speech and bringing words to life.

Over fourteen years, I have dealt with success and failure, asked myself tough questions and challenged my abilities in the passionate pursuit of honing my craft. I have been lucky enough to learn from vastly experienced talent, highly respected professionals who have achieved the ultimate standards and it’s those levels I constantly aspire to live by.

Having worked in multiple creative disciplines, including producer and director roles, I have found creating the right environment to be an integral factor in getting the best out of an individuals performance - everyone thrives better when there is clear communication, enthusiastic support and trust.

I am devoted to my craft and in the same way, I am a dedicated coach. I have found immense joy in unlocking an individuals potential and helping them achieve the maximum individual growth - all achieved by the lessons I have learnt in persistence, discipline, dedication, determination, empathy and respect for words, not only in exams or auditions, but throughout life.

I’M EXCITED TO COACH YOU AND HELP unlock YOUR hidden potential.

My Approach

As a coach, I have the knowledge and experience to create individually tailored, goal-orientated sessions that will improve your speech. I offer a flexible and patient approach that respects an individuals process - everyone needs this space and time to develop at their own pace. My job is to make positive observations, set attainable challenges and most importantly - create an environment where you enjoy making a speech!

THE PROCESS

THE TEXT

I believe in a text heavy approach to begin with. If the words are a writers map, you don’t jump in the car and try to read it on the way, chances are you’ll go down the wrong road. Better understanding of text, underpinned by solid research, results in making smarter more informed decisions.

THE CHARACTER

Whether it’s a fictional character in a dramatic play or making a business pitch as yourself, that speech has a purpose - it’s a story that needs to be told. ‘Be clear, be confident, don’t overthink it’ - this is not workable advice. A focus on physical, vocal technique and your intellectual / emotional connection to the text will allow you to achieve a sense of comfort in your own skin.

THE PERFORMANCE

The secret of putting everything together is to forget it all. The lessons learnt thus far, that knowledge acquired is in there, it isn’t going away. The final stage is a beautiful thing, it’s allowing the speech to evolve by finding out if it works or not and having a sense of play, this is vital in keeping the work interesting and engaging for you and your audience.
